Thank you for this reflection Dawn. I'm guilty of taking these metaphorical hearing aids out when the noise is so painful and overwhelming because simply hearing isn't enough as you point out. I'm in UK and the noise from the USA is echoing dangerously here. We elected the (slightly) progressive alternative - only to find the Labour Party tripping over itself to become Trumps (& Israel's) BF. Already the far right here have grown bold and belligerent.
Hope is so much better than despair. So I'm turning up the volume on all those voices who dont think Trump/fascism is the answer and joining hands with all those who agree with your call to hold the handrail...
Thank you, Issy, for your comments that ring true, the inclination to not want to hear and yet, when willing to hear, coupling the hard news with hope rather than despair. Thank you for joining hands with us over here. It means a lot and I do not take it for granted.
This is beautifully said. And reflects powerfully how we also feel. Bless you for the power and forthrightness of this deeply personal and deeply civic message. You have dipped well!

Thank you, Peter, and for taking the time to read. The dipping into all kinds of wells is vital during these times and they never fail to sustain.
